The Alternative
Learning System or popularly known
ALS is unconventional or non-traditional
method of learning that provides equal opportunities similar to formal
school. Alternative Learning System
contributes to solving problems in
illiteracy among children, youth and adults at lessen drop-outs. It has three
programs and projects carrying out, 1) Basic Literacy Program is an intensive
community –based training for illiterate out of school youth and adults who are willing to learn basic
literacy like basic reading, computing , creative thinking and problem solving
; 2) Elementary Level which is the
transition to self –learning level: 3) Secondary Level which is self- learning
level.
