ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM: BRIDGE TO NEW HOPE
     The Alternative Learning System or popularly  known ALS  is unconventional or non-traditional method of learning that provides equal opportunities similar to formal school.  Alternative Learning System contributes to solving problems  in illiteracy among children, youth and adults at lessen drop-outs. It has three programs and projects carrying out, 1) Basic Literacy Program is an intensive community –based training for illiterate out of school youth  and adults who are willing to learn basic literacy like basic reading, computing , creative thinking and problem solving ; 2) Elementary Level  which is the transition to self –learning level: 3) Secondary Level which is self- learning level.

                Alternative Learning System Mobile Teachers went to different barios/places to reach  out of school youth, and adults  who wants to learn even not in formal school. They went mapping to identify the data of non-schooling in the barangay at be their clients/students.  








                Alternative Learning System have five learning areas namely ; Communication Skills, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Sustainable Use of Resources/Productivity, Development of Self and  a sense of community, and expanding One’s World Vision while formal Education have English, Mathematics, Science,  Filipino, and Makabayan.

          The mobile teachers used self-paced , self-instructional, Indigenous and Integrated modules . On the other hand formal education use textbooks facilitated by teachers.
